CSR-The Bottom Line with People in Mind

The Bottom Line with People in Mind

Companies have a lot of power, both in the community and the economy. With billions of dollars in assets, they can easily invest in socially conscious programs and initiatives. Some companies pretend to care about corporate social responsibility. Others devote real time and money to make a positive impact on the environment, employees, customers, and the general community.

Why should businesses feel compelled to focus on more than just profit? What sort of progress is resulting from the efforts of socially responsible companies? We discovered the answers to these questions and more at the 2013 Ayers College of Commerce and Industry Business Symposium, featuring speakers from the Kellogg School of Management, Impact Engine, Schneider Electric, and Coca-Cola.
